Exploring the Baltic

In Aug/Sep 2011 I took my first cruise with Lindblad/National Geographic Expeditions across the Baltic. The expedition started in Copenhagen and visited Lübeck, Ertholmene, Bornholm, Gdansk, Klaipeda, Riga, Visby, Stora Karlsö, Utö, Stockholm, Mariehamn, and Tallinn before concluding in Saint Petersburg.
I arrived early in Copenhagen hoping to rest and shake any jetlag and discovered a large number of my fellow passengers were staying at my hotel. It seemed that Lindblad had arranged to fly them out of the USA early to avoid a hurricane bearing down on the US east coast. I had travelled the other way around so was blissly unaware of the problem. Due to a combination of jetlag and having been to Copenhagen before I didn't exercise the camera very much, although I had another go at taking a decent image of the Little Mermaid. Once on the ship I discovered the library was a great place to take in the scenery and I spent a lot of my time on the ship either there or on the bridge (Lindblad have an open bridge policy).
